Yankees' Jasson Dominguez returns to the lineup Saturday
The 20-year-old outfielder has been out since July 22 with a left intercostal strain
Jasson Dominguez, the Yankees' top prospect, is set to return to the lineup Saturday for the Double-A Somerset Patriots.
Dominguez has been out since July 22 with a left intercostal strain. He was hitting .268 with three homers and 10 RBIs in 59 games before going on the injured list.
The 20-year-old outfielder is considered one of the best prospects in baseball. He signed with the Yankees for $5.1 million in 2019.
Dominguez is expected to play right field and bat leadoff for the Patriots on Saturday.
The Yankees are hoping that Dominguez can help them make a run at the Eastern League playoffs. Somerset is currently in third place in the Eastern Division, 3.5 games behind the first-place Reading Fightin Phils.
Dominguez is a key part of the Yankees' future plans. He is expected to make his major league debut in 2023.
