Deadly Tornadoes Devastate Tennessee, Leaving Trail of Destruction
Six Lives Lost, Tens of Thousands Without Power
The Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) reports a grim toll of 114 homes destroyed and 6 confirmed fatalities as a result of the severe storms and tornadoes that tore through Tennessee over the weekend.
A somber atmosphere settled over Clarksville and surrounding communities as emergency crews worked tirelessly to rescue and care for those affected by the devastation. Tennessee officials are assessing the extent of the damage, with reports of widespread property destruction, power outages, and injuries.
EF-3 Tornado Tears Through Clarksville
Among the hardest-hit areas was Clarksville, where an EF-3 tornado with winds reaching 150 mph wreaked havoc. Mayor Joe Pitts confirmed that three people were killed in the city, while 62 others were hospitalized. The tornado left a trail of demolished homes, uprooted trees, and downed power lines.
As search and rescue operations continue, authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines. The EMA advises residents to stay away from damaged areas, report any hazards or injuries, and conserve water and other resources.
