IPCC Fifth Assessment Report: WGIII AR5
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has opened the second draft of its Working Group III (WGIII) report for public review. The report, titled "Climate Change 2022: Mitigation of Climate Change," assesses the scientific, technological, environmental, economic, and social aspects of climate change mitigation.
The draft report is open for public review until July 29, 2022. Comments can be submitted through the IPCC website. The final report is expected to be published in early 2023.
The WGIII report is one of three main reports that make up the IPCC's Fifth Assessment Report (AR5). The other two reports, from Working Group I and Working Group II, were published in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
The AR5 is the most comprehensive assessment of climate change to date. It provides a detailed assessment of the science of climate change, the impacts of climate change, and the options for mitigating climate change.
The WGIII report is a critical component of the AR5. It provides a comprehensive assessment of the scientific, technological, environmental, economic, and social aspects of climate change mitigation.
The report is intended to inform policymakers and other stakeholders about the options for mitigating climate change. It is also intended to provide guidance on the development of climate change mitigation policies.
The WGIII report is a valuable resource for anyone interested in climate change mitigation. It provides a comprehensive overview of the scientific, technological, environmental, economic, and social aspects of climate change mitigation.
